Özet

Established under the UNESCO Man and the Biosphere (MAB) Programme, biosphere reserves represent protected areas intended to demonstrate well-balanced relationship between conservation of biodiversity and an appropriate local people. Within the framework of this study, the biological diversity of the Igneada longos forests and their environs has been put forth. As such, firstly, major resource values have been classified according to ecological units and evaluations for these ecological units in relation to the criteria for planning nature conservation areas have been completed. At the end of the classification, the study area biosphere reserve potential has been presented. In parallel, the study area has been separated into core, buffer, and transition zones and suggestions for continuously sustainable land using each zone have been provided.
