Abstract

The corrosion characteristics of pure aluminium and aluminium alloys containing different alloying elements prepared as a rotating disc electrode were investigated in aqueous solutions of HCl, NaCl, NaCl + NaOH and H2SO4. The corrosion characteristics such as corrosion potential, corrosion rate, polarization resistance, pitting potential and inhibition effect of propargyl alcohol on the pure aluminium and aluminium alloys were determined. The working temperature was chosen as 25-degrees-C and the rotating speed of the electrode was chosen to be 2200 rpm.
