Özet

In this study, erythromycin susceptibilities of 110 group A beta hemolytic streptococci (GABHS) strains, isolated from throat cultures at Central Laboratories of Ankara University Medical School between March 2003-January 2005, was observed. Susceptibility testing to erythromycin was applied, according to the Clinical Laboratory Standarts Institute (CLIS) guidelines, by using agar disc diffusion technique with standart erythromycin antibiotic disc (15 mcg-Bio-Disc). While 106 of 110 GABHS strains (96.36%) were found susceptible to erythromycin, 4 of them (3.63%) were found resistant to erythromycin.
