Abstract
Bartonian, Priabonian and Oligocene shallowest / shallow-water sediments of the various localities of the southern and eastern Turkey were investigated with respect to description of benthic foraminiferal species and biostratigraphy. The stratigraphic sections such as Arabil, S Hatay; Ahirdag, N Maras; Develi, W Malatya; Kovancilar, Saribugday,Yoncalibayir, Laygirt, Karaman, Okçular arround the Elazig; Norkagak, Keleresdere, NE Mus, producing fourty four foraminiferal species of the families Nummulitidae, Austrotrillinidae, Soritidae, Alveolinidae, Miogypsinidae, Lepidocyclinidae, Riveroinidae, Rotaliidae, Calcarinidae, Chapmaninidae and Asterigerinidae described to represent four shallowest and seven shallow benthic foraminiferal zones (SB 17-20 and SB 21-23).
