This paper introducesAssociation-Platform Model and analyzes the GHD–MUDEP model, a dual-structured initiative fostering academic engagementAcademic Engagement and professional developmentProfessional Development among accounting scholars in Türkiye. Comprising the formal Assurance Services Association (GHD) and the informal Accounting Audit Employees Platform (MUDEP) platform, the model offers a decentralized, voluntary alternative to traditional, bureaucratic faculty developmentFaculty Development systems. While GHD provides institutional stability and legitimacy, MUDEP encourages grassroots academic interaction, peer learningPeer Learning, and rapid response to professional needs. Together, they form a hybrid mechanism that identifies and addresses skill gaps, supports early-career scholars, democratizes knowledge-sharing, and generates sustainable academic outputs such as books and journal publications. Through webinars, workshops, field visits, and participatory conferences, the model cultivates inclusivity, mentorshipMentorship and Collaboration, and cross-institutional collaboration. Positioned within a rigid higher education context, this framework demonstrates how civil societyCivil Society can reimagine academic development as a dynamic, inclusive, and community-led process with potential applicability beyond the accounting field.
