The aim of this paper is to develop a reverse phase high performance liquid chromatographic method with UV detection using the new generation core-shell columns to analyze montelukast and levocetirizine. For this aim, the mobile phase compositions, buffer solutions at different concentrations, pH, flow rate and temperature effects are optimized for the separation of drug compounds. The chromatographic separation was achieved on Kinetex (R) C 18 (150 mm x 4.6 mm, 5 mu m) as stationary phase. Mobile phase consist of methano1:10 mM ammonium acetate buffer (85:15, v/v) pH 4.0 at a flow rate of 1.5 mL min(-1), column temperature of 40 degrees C and UV detection at 240 nm. The proposed this method was used successfully for simultaneous determination of montelukast and levocetirizine in capsule dosage forms.
