Özet

This study is an attempt to analyze the movies, The Killing of a Sacred Deer (2017) of Yorgos Lanthimos and The Salesman (2016) of Asghar Farhadi, as two examples of contemporary tragedies. The movies are examined in relation to the theoretical and historical debates existing within the literature on tragedies and in doing so the study aims to understand how these two contemporary tragedies explore today's political and social tensions and conflicts as well as quests for justice.
