Job resourcefulness, defined as the ability to take initiative
and engage in actions beyond assigned duties to improve conditions or create
new opportunities, it has been recognized as an important factor in supporting
task performance. However, while there is ample literature on this topic in
English, there is a lack of comprehensive research in Turkish. This study aims
to address this gap by developing a valid and reliable measurement tool in
Turkish, called the "Super Staff Scale," which assesses job
resourcefulness as a critical characteristic sought in employees for job
placement, self-development, and job retention.
The two-factor 23-item developed scale has a satisfactory validity according
to the results of both construct validity, content validity and
criterion-related validity analyses. The struggler subscale consists of 14
items and explains 47.63% of the total variance. The planned subscale consists
of 9 items and explains 4.94% of the total variance. Accordingly, the total
variance explained by the scale is 52,574%. The reliability coefficient of the
super staff scale is .95, indicating that the internal consistency of the
related 23 items is extremely high. The Cronbach's alpha value calculated for
the "struggler" factor is 0.94, while the value for the
"planned" factor is 0.89. These findings indicate that the developed
scale is a valid and reliable measurement tool suitable for Turkish culture.
Thus, this scale is expected
to be the subject of more studies in the field of organizational behavior.
