Özet

Dental age is a method of estimating an individual’s chronological age based on the developmental processes of their teeth. It is a common method used in anthropology and forensic sciences. Wisdom teeth, which begin to erupt as an individual approaches the age of 20, are considered an indicator that the person is of a certain age to have legal capacity [1]. However, knowing the individual’s dental age during dental applications is important for clinical success. From a similar perspective, a good understanding of the dental developmental process is also useful in the treatment of individuals with craniofacial disorders.
