Comparison Of Slurry Tanker Spreader And Drag-Hose Application Systems
Abstract
Slurry consists of a mixture of solid and liquid faeces of cattle and small ruminants, barn cleaning water and straw. It is a mud consistency and a
valuable organic fertilizer. It reduces the cost of chemical fertilizers and prevents environmental pollution. Tanker spreader or
drag-hose application systems are used to distribute liquid manure. It is surface
applied directly on the soil or injected or mixed below the soil at a certain
depth. In this article, slurry tanker spreader or drag-hose application
systems were compared in terms of soil compaction, bad odor potential,
nitrogen conservation and time loss.
