Özet

© 2019. All Rights Reserved. This study, which evaluates in-service trainings applied to candidate customs enforcement and customs inspection officers who have begun active duty in Ministry of Customs and Trade, based on the opinions of the candidate personnel, is a qualitative research in the screening model. Semi-structured interview form is used as qualitative research technique in the study. The study group consists of 29 participants who are selected among the personnel participating in the Training of Candidate Customs Enforcement and Customs Inspection Officers carried out from January 2017 until the end of May 2017 by using the easily accessible status sampling.-According to research results based on the obtained data within the research, the participants are generally satisfied with the in-service training. Almost all participants express that the theoretical training is sufficient but there are some problems in providing the theory-practical integrity. Most of the participants find the training infrastructure adequate. Participants particularly express the need for trainers who could understand how they work in the countryside and the difficultes they are experiencing, who could understand them, and who can offer guidance for practice as well as who has a command of the legislation. The request of course content and duration of the training programs of the participants may also be emphasized. In this respect, it is a remarkable proposal that the hours of some course hours shall be reduced and instead the courses with more practice shall be emphasized and the program duration shall be determined accordingly. Finally, another issue that participants emphasize is the provision of support for facilitating social life.
