Özet

Tourism mobility in Turkey where the social structure is not homogeneous and where there are two different structures whose consumption culture, lifestyle, behavior patterns, and choices are different have a more distinctive profile than other Islamic countries. This study criticizes the invisibility of the differentiation of this basic lifestyle which determines the life of women in touristic literature and claims that one needs to focus on women's experiences for a deep academic understanding and effective tourism planning. In this context, the development of touristic activities in the consumption practices of women identifying themselves as secular or conservative has been presented comparatively. During the data-gathering period of the study, in order to make women’s experiences visible and include more of their voices in the study, a semi-structured interview technique, a qualitative research methodology, was used. In this study, it was seen that travel experiences affected women’s lives in a positive way. In addition to this, their travel routes and ways have changed in time due to this. In a way, women who started to differ in many ways from each other began to get similar in terms of travel practices. To make it more specific, there is an increase in the cultural capital of all women through travels, tourism consumption is enriched through travels becoming continuous and the tourism market is diversified in the same way.
