Özet

In this work, the design and the fabrication of E-shaped compact microstrip antennas (ECMAs) are carried out. ECMAs having different size are simulated by packed software IE3D T based on method of moment (MoM) and the effects of the antennas' loaded slots on the resonant frequency and the bandwidth are investigated. As slots area is increased, a decrease on the resonant frequency is observed. It was seen that the slots width is more effective than the slots length for the reduction of the resonant frequency. In order to verify the results obtained in this work, an ECMA operated at 2.4 GHz is fabricated by using material of Rogers RT/duroid 5870. It was observed that the patch size of ECMA is 61% smaller than rectangular microstrip antenna; however the bandwidth reduces from 32.2 MHz to 10.1 MHz for a given resonant frequency. Return loss and radiation patterns of simulated and fabricated ECMAs are given comparatively.
