Özet

Information on genetic relationships in farm animals both within and between species has several important applications including in their genetic improvement and breeding programs. Amongst farm animals, three major species; cattle (Bos indicus), goat (Capra hircus) and sheep (Ovis aries) belong to a single family Bovidae. They are thought to have originated from a single ancestral species and are closely related. However, information on the extent of genetic relationships and diversities at the molecular level in these species are not yet available (Appa Rao et al. 1996).
