Abstract

A facile synthesis of 2,2′-bipyridinium fluorochromate(VI), (C 10H9N2)[CrO3F], was developed by reacting CrO3 with HF in the presence of 2,2′-bipyridine. The structure of the title compound consists of discrete cations and anions. The coordination around Cr is distorted tetrahedral. © 2007 International Union of Crystallography All rights reserved.
