Özet

Poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) nonwoven was coated with a conductive polyaniline derivative of poly(o-anisidine) (POA) and metallic Ag particles by in situ polymerization of o-anisidine with AgNO3 in an aqueous acidic medium accelerated with a secondary oxidant such as ammonium peroxydisulphate or iron nitrate. The effects of secondary oxidant type, secondary oxidant/AgNO3 mol ratio, type of acid used as polymerization medium, and concentration of acid were studied on POA/Ag content and volume resistivity of the composite. The presence and contribution to the weight fraction of Ag particles to POA/Ag contents were evaluated by X-ray diffraction and thermogravimetric analysis, respectively. It was observed that the morphology of the conductive coat changed with increasing POA/Ag content. The POA/Ag/PET composite was tested for antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus with agar diffusion test, and a significantly high activity was obtained in contrast to a POA/PET composite.
