protein içerikleri nedeniyle her zaman ilgi çekici hammaddeler olmuştur.
In broiler nutrition the search for alternative protein sources is increased due to the high protein
requirement. In addition to genetic factors, environmental conditions and nutritional factors also
affects the energy and protein needs of broilers. At the same time the quality of feed materials has
an important role in maintaining broiler production and profitability Rendering products have
always been interesting feed materials because of their protein content Spray dried plasma (SDP);
a high protein source obtained from the blood of animals in slaughterhouses, as well as being one
of the rendering products. Besides to conventional methods, the drying technique can preserve the
essential amino acids in high amounts. In this context, “dried” products are products with high
nutritional value. The purpose of this review is to draw attention to SDP, a high quality animal
protein source for broiler nutrition. Compare to plant origin sources, its lack of antinutritional
factors and ability to act without addition of enzymes makes this product special to researches.
Studies shown that this feed additive helps feed consumption as it is a delicious protein source in
broilers, improves feed conversion ratio, positively affects growth parameters, and provides
immunological support even in bad conditions with the immune inflammatory response it creates.
Especially in broilers, it is observed that the addition of SDP in the starter period is more
appropriate than the whole feeding period because it increases the intestinal development and
digestive physiology against the difficulties that may be experienced in the future. It is thought that
SDP can be used as an alternative feed additive because its of animal origin, anti nutritional factors
free and is rich in essential amino acids.
