Özet

Minocycline is a recently introduced tetracycline derivative antibiotic presented as being more effective than tetracycline against S. aureus strains. In our study the in vitro efficacy of minocycline against 100 S. aureus strains is detected by the disk diffusion method. Among tetracycline resistant isolates, 76.7% were found susceptible to minocycline whereas 16.3% of them were in the intermediate group. Of these tetracycline resistant isolates 79% were also susceptible to methicillin as well.
