Özet

This paper suggests that the structure known as "Beypazari flexure / monocline" in the Turkish geology literature should be named as "Beypazari fault-propagation folds ". Beypazari, Kilci and Başören blind thrusts together with Erenler back thrust constitute the Beypazari Blind Thrust Zone which is an active neotectonic structure as indicated by earthquake activity. NW-SE contraction created by the interaction between the North Anatolian Fault Zone, the Kirikkale-Erbaa Fault Zone and the Eskişehir Fault Zone produced the Eldivan-Elmadaǧ Pinched Crustal Wedge, the Abdüsselam Pinched Crustal Wedge and the Beypazari Blind Thrust Zone. These structures take up the internal deformation of the Anatolian Plate.
