Özet

In this paper, it is studied the part of mechanics in the book entitled Compendium of Mathematical Sciences by Ishaq Efendi (1748?-1834) who was an eminent pioneer to transfer of modern sciences into the Ottomans. The treatise, which consists of four volumes, was published between 1831 and 1834 in Istanbul and in 1845 in Cairo as a second print. As far as is known the writer had been produced his work by drawing on Western sources, some of which we know, specifically the text books by Etienne Bezout (1730-1783) who was wellknown French scholar.
