This study was carried out to choose between surface and sprinkler irrigation applications in Konya-Yunak-Gokpinar TOPRAKSU cooperative, which is irrigated with groundwater resources. Alternative surface and sprinkler irrigation systems were designed for adequate and limited water regimes in which the water requirements are supplied completely and with extending irrigation intervals respectively. The economic results of 8 alternative projects were evaluated. Accordingly to 1987 prices, the results show that all the surface irrigation systems and sprinkler irrigation systems with 9-18 days interval were found unsuitable regarding the economic factors. The highest benefit-cost ratio was achieved at sprinkler irrigation system of adequate water regime. As a result sprinkler irrigation system with 6-12 days of irrigation interval was suggested for the area. -from English summary
