This article presents an evaluation, in terms of pediatrics, of Teshil, (Making Easy to Manage or Accomplish), which is a writing of Celalüddin Hizir, a physician known as "Haci Paşa" in Anatolia in the 14 th-15 th century. Photographs of the manuscript of Teshil, registered in Nuruosmaniye Library Collection No: 3575 were studied, which were acquired through the Ankara University, Faculty of Medicine, History of Medicine and Ethics Department Library by Prof. Dr. Feridun Nafiz Uzluk. The manuscript was transliterated firstly into contemporary Turkish. A section concerning childhood ["yüklü avrat ve lohusa tedbiri" (pregnancy and maternity care)] contained in the first chapter of the manuscript and sections including expressions about children ["umm al-sibyan" (epilepsy) and "hasbe ve cuderi" (measles and variola)] contained in the third chapter of the manuscript were translated into contemporary Turkish and presented. A comparative evaluation of two similar writings of Haci Paşa, Teshil, and Muntehab-i şifa, is given in this article to determine the place and significance of Teshil among the works of Haci Paşa. It was ascertained that Teshil is an easily understandable and simple work written to be used in the absence of competent physicians, as expressed by Haci Paşa as the aim of this writing in the beginning of the manuscript.
