Özet

Sensitive, fast and accurate dielectric characterization of different alcohol types by a cavity resonator is presented. A perturbed cylindrical cavity resonator operating in TM010 mode is employed for identifying liquid samples placed in a thin glass container. The design is validated by full-wave electromagnetic simulations. Measurements confirm the simulation results, from which the complex permittivities of six alcohol types (pentanol, butanol, propanol, ethanol, teksoll and methanol) are extracted with precision. The proposed sensing setup is expected to be instrumental in identification of unknown liquids through derivation of dielectric constant and loss factor, which is primarily aimed towards alcohol types such as methanol which can be hazardous for human health.
