Özet

This comparative study deals with the gender issue in Turkish and German names. In this context, firstly I will focus on the characteristics related to gender in German names, then in Turkish names. There are some characteristics related to gender in both languages. In German names gender is determined by law. On the other hand, in Turkish names there is not such a certainty. At the end of the study I will evaluate the names in both languages comparatively. Therefore, this is a study of comparative onomastics.
