Abstract

40 turtles were used for this investigation. The effect of 2-7 atmospheres pressure on body temperature, oxyreduction potential of the blood and ECG are investigated. The body temperature rose as follows: blood 1.82°-8.18°, liver 0.80°-5.17°, muscle 0.74°-4.55°C. The temperature of the hyperbaric chamber also rose between 0.74°-1.57°C. The redox potential of blood increased significantly. Bradycardia occurred in 75% of cases during hyperbaric air condition, and 25% of these arrhythmias were observed especially in the second hr.
