Abstract

Our approach was to examine the antioxidant activity of novel retinoid derivatives containing the benzimidazole moiety. Their in vitro effects on rat liver microsomal, NADPH-dependent lipid peroxidation levels and superoxide anion formation were determined. Lipid peroxidation in rat liver microsomes was reduced by some of the compounds in a dose-dependent manner.
