Özet

t Turkey has a deep-rooted ethnobotanical knowledge due to its rich flora and cultural and historical background. In this review, the historical course of ethnobotanical studies in Turkey is briefly addressed and highlights from ethnobotanical records belonging to seven geographical regions of the country are compiled. In addition, the richness of Turkey’s ethnobotanical accumulation and its potential for future issues has been revealed through some striking examples and bioactivity studies conducted under the guidance of traditional knowledge.
