Abstract

Up to now, the existence of the Bartonian larger benthic foraminifera was not reported from the Haymana-Polatli{dotless} Basin. In this study, the argillaceous limestone collected from the top of the Çayraz section (near Çayraz village, 5 km north of Haymana) yielded indicator foraminiferal species, namely Nummulites perforatus (De Montfort), Alveolina stercusmuris Mayer-Eymar and Alveolina nuttalli Davies for Bartonian. These species are described and their stratigraphic ranges are discussed in detail.
