For most of the radiosensible tumors, while applying radiotherapy into children and infants, it is necessary to stabilize them 3-5 minutes without motion. To obtain this, up to date different kinds of hypnotics and sedatives were used. While using these drugs, complications occurring in the respiratory tract generally disturbs the therapy and puts the patient in a dangerous position. In our study, with those children under radiotherapy for different reasons, ketamine (Ketalar) anesthesia was applied, and the results given. At the beginning 5 mg/kg ketamine was given intramuscularly with 0.25 mg Atropine. By this method, in approximately 20 session ketamine doses of 8 mg/kg for 2 children and 10 mg/kg for 3 children, were reached. These results are accepted as a tolerance to ketamine.
