Mehmed Eşref Dede's Ayin-i Tarikat-i Mevlana is a poetic and prose work that deals with the method and manners in the Mevlevi rites. According to our determinations, no academic study has been done about the work whose unique (single) copy with the handwriting of the author has been reached. Mehmed Eşref Dede of Kastamonu is a Mevlevi dervish who lived in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Mehmed Eşref Dede, who wrote poems with the pen name Mesti, is also a poet who has a divan. In addition to his religious-mystical poems, there are also poems dealing with human subjects. In the prose introduction of his work Ayin-i Tarikat-i Mevlana, he states that he studied the works of important figures in the Mevlevi order. Mehmet Eşref Dede, who states that he examines the manners, methods and subtleties of Mevlevi, also emphasizes the importance of the works named Minhacu'lFukara and Huccetu's-Sema by İsmail Rusuhi Ankaravi, who is the commentator of the Mesnevi. The first part of the work, consisting of 259 couplets, was written in the form of mathnawi. In the second part, there are couplets and poems among the prose texts related to the Mevlevi manners. Eşref Dede also included the poems of Mevlana, Esrar Dede, Şeyh Galip, Riyazi and Sırri in different parts of his work. The only copy of the work is registered with the number "06 Mil Yz A 8172" in the National Library Manuscripts Collection.
