Dogrose (Rosa sp.) that is grown naturally in many parts of Turkey is a plant of high economical value in food and drug industry and also have many other fields of usage. Tokat province located in northeastern part of Turkey is one of the main producers. In this study the genetic relationship between 14 Rosa sp. that were selected according to their high quality, grown around Tokat province was investigated by RAPD analysis. Results show that although the overall genetic similarity is quite high in Rosa sp. studied, variations depending on species and on geographical distance are also present. © 2003 Taylor and Francis Group, LLC.
