Triticale is used for human food and animal feed throughout the world. Triticale lines collected from different regional breeding nurseries in Turkey were evaluated for genetic variation using random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) analysis technique. Twenty four lines and one cultivar were used in RAPD analysis. Of the 60 primers used 10 produced polymorphic data. A dendrogram was constructed and genotypes were clustered into groups based on evaluation of genetic similarities and differences. A high genetic variation among triticale genotypes was observed. These results suggest that RAPD analysis could be used to distinguish and determine genetic variation in triticale genotypes.
