Özet

This study examines the relationship between socio-demographic variables and perceived social support of 1,166 adolescents in Turkey. The Provision of Social Relations Scale PSR was used as a data collecting instrument and translated into Turkish. The results showed significant differences in PSR points across the various socio-demographic variables in favour of girls, non-immigrants, those living in flats, those educated upto the 7th degree, those who have high family incomes, those who have a social insurance system, those with one sibling, those with undergraduate mothers and fathers, and those whose fathers are officers. The findings of the study may be useful to school professionals such as social workers who are interested in developing proactive social support programmes.
