Özet

In this article various cases which represent well-known Turkish foreign policy decisions will be examined within four structural factors. The factors in question are as follows: economy and development, strategic vision, domestic policy and international conjuncture. It will be accentuated through a historical perspective how the factors in question affect the attitudes of Turkish decision-makers regardless of their personal or psychological qualities. As set forth in the article, since the establishment of the Republic, foreign policy decisions have been directed by different factors from time to time, such as economic perception, domestic policy concerns, search of foreign support or strategic considerations.
