Özet

We examined the effects of a five-week psychoeducational programme based on the Career Sailboat model on career decision-making self-efficacy levels of Turkish university students in their job-seeking phase. Twenty-six university students were assigned to one of three groups: experimental group (EG) (n = 9), the placebo group (PG) (n = 7) and the control group (CG) (n = 10). The EG post-test scores were higher than that of the CG but not higher than that of the PG. Pre-test vs. post-test paired comparisons indicated a significant increase in career decision-making self-efficacy level only for the EG group. The use of a quantitative paradigm, specifically an experimental design, was supplemented by soliciting qualitative data as well. The findings based on the qualitative data support the quantitative findings.
