Ahmadi, considered the most famous poet, who flourished in Anatolia in the 14th century, authored a poetic work, Tarwih al-Arwah, on medicine in medical masnavi. A chapter on precautions to be taken for children was determined in this work, which was written under cover of medical books such as Anmuzaj, Mujaz and Hawi, on behalf of Amir Süleyman Celebi, son of Bayezid I the Thunderbolt. A microfilm of Tarwih al-Arwah No. 06 Mf 1994 A 653, which is available in the Ankara National Library and was copied from the Süleymaniye Manuscript Library, Ayasofya Collection, No. 3595, was examined. The chapter related to children was transliterated and evaluated. The chapter on precautions to be taken for children begins with conception. The four parts of the chapter address: things that should be done for a pregnant woman, things that should be done to solve problems during labor, characteristics of the nursing mother, and things that should be done for the baby when un-swaddled and placed in the cradle, respectively. It was seen that Ahmadi wrote his work according to humoral paradigm, which was the basis for medical applications in his era and for his suggestions for protecting children's health, beginning from conception and continuing through the following periods. The fact that Ahmadi dedicated a chapter to the protection of children's health in his Turkish poetic work can be evaluated as a favorable and significant approach in the history of Turkish medicine.
