Kentlerin yerleşim birimleri olarak oluşumları uzun zaman öncesine dayalı olsa da günümüz dünyası modern kentlerin oluşum tarihi çok da eski değildir. Organik yapılar olan kentlerin oluşumları birçok etmene bağlıdır. Kentin içinde bulunduğu coğrafya, ait olduğu ülkenin ekonomik ve jeopolitik durumu, kente yerleşen toplumun sosyo-kültürel özellikleri ve kentte görülen göç hareketleri bunlardan bazılarıdır. Kentler çeşitli sebepler ile göç hareketlerine maruz kalmaktadır. Göç; insan hayatını tehlikeye düşüren olayların varlığında ya da insanların daha konforlu yaşama isteği sonucunda gerçekleştirdiği ve hayatlarının bir kısmını ya da tamamını geçirmek üzere yaptığı bir yer değiştirme hareketidir. Göç hareketi çok çeşitli etkileriyle kentlerin fiziksel, ekonomik, sosyal ve kültürel şekillenmesinde büyük rol oynamaktadır. Bu çalışma göç hareketinin kentler üzerinde yarattığı etkilere değinerek göç hareketinin özellikle kentin fiziki yapısında ve estetik değerlerinde yaptığı değişiklikleri ortaya koymayı hedeflemektedir. Bu çalışma kentin temel bileşenlerinden yola çıkarak göç hareketinin bu bileşenler üzerinde yarattığı olumlu ve olumsuz etkileri tablo halinde göstererek bu etkilerin kentin sosyo-kültürel ve fiziki yapısı yanında estetik görünümüne olan yansımalarını ortaya koymayı hedeflemiştir.
Although the formation of cities as settlements is based on a long time ago, the history of the formation of today's world cities is not very old. The formation of cities, which are organic structures, depends on many factors. The geography of the city, the economic and geopolitical situation of the country it belongs to, the socio-cultural characteristics of the society that settled in the city and the migrations of the city are some of these. Cities are exposed to migration movements for various reasons. Migration is a relocation movement that is carried out in the presence of events that endanger human life or as a result of people's desire to live more comfortably and to spend some or all of their lives. With its divers effects, migration movement plays a major role in shaping the cities in physical, economic, social and cultural aspects. This study aims to reveal the reflections of these effects on the socio-cultural and physical structure of the city, as well as on the aesthetic appearance, by showing the positive and negative effects of the migration movement on these components, starting from the basic components of the city.
