Abstract: The aim of the study is to analyze the success of teams in terms of ball possession, match outcomes,
match location, and other situational factors in the 2021-2022 season of France's Ligue 1. For this purpose, 380
matches played in the 2021-2022 season of France's Ligue 1 were analyzed. Three situational variables (match
outcomes, match location, and quality of opposition) were considered in the analysis. The situational variables
with three subheadings, match outcomes and quality of opposition, were analyzed using one-way analysis of
variance, while the situational variable with two subheadings, match location, was analyzed using independent
samples t-test. Statistical analyses were conducted using version 22 of the SPSS software. According to the
findings obtained, it was found that successful teams had a higher ball possession parameter compared to
unsuccessful teams (Group 1 = 20.19±4.31; Group 2 = 15.54±3.11; Group 3 = 14.73±2.80; F=132.95; p=0.000).
Furthermore, teams that won matches had a higher ball possession parameter compared to teams that had a draw
or lost (Group 1 = 16.91±4.45; Group 2 = 15.94±3.61; Group 3 = 15.98±3.31; F=5.33; p=0.005). Additionally,
the home teams had a higher ball possession parameter compared to the away teams (Group 1 = 16.70±3.89; Group 2
= 15.92±3.80; t=2.78; p=0.006) in terms of duration (minutes). Based on the findings of the study, it can be
concluded that situational variables influence the ball possession parameter.
Öz: Çalışmanın amacı, 2021-2022 sezonunda Fransa Ligue1’de oynanan maçların topa sahip olma açısından
lig başarısı, maç sonucu, maç lokasyonu gibi durumsal faktörler açsından incelenmesidir. Bu amaçla 2021-2022
sezonunda Fransa Ligue1’de oynanan 380 müsabaka analiz edilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde üç durumsal
değişken (maç sonuçları, maç lokasyonu ve rakibin kalitesi) dikkate alınmıştır. Durumsal değişkenlerin üç alt
başlığı olan maç sonuçları ve rakibin kalitesi tek yönlü varyans analizi ile iki alt başlığı olan maç lokasyonu ise
bağımsız örneklem t-testi ile analiz edilmiştir. İstatistiksel analizler SPSS yazılımının 22 sürümü kullanılarak
yapılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgulara göre; başarılı takımların başarısız takımlara göre (Grup 1= 20,19±4,31; Grup
2= 15,54±3,11; Grup 3= 14,73±2,80; F=132,95; p=0,000); galip gelen takımların beraberlik ve mağlubiyet alan
takımlara göre (Grup 1= 16,91±4,45; †Grup 2= 15,94±3,61; Grup 3= 15,98±3,31; F=5,33; p=0,005); ev sahibi
olan takımların deplasman takımlarına göre (Grup 1= 16,70±3,89; Grup 2= 15,92±3,80; t=2,78; p=0,006)
süresel (dakika) olarak daha fazla topa sahip olduğu bulunmuştur. Yapılan çalışmanın bulgularına göre
durumsal değikenler topa sahip olma parametresini etkilediği sonucuna varılmıştır
