The quest for new stretchable, implantable, wearable photodetectors with superior optoelectronic properties has become a driving force for the development of flexible photodetectors. This paper presents flexible ultraviolet photodetectors based on various thicknesses of ZnO thin films deposited on polyimide substrate using the spin coating method. The photoresponsivity values of devices manufactured with ZnO thin films of 29, 66, and 105 nm thicknesses, when exposed to UV illumination at a wavelength of 365 nm, are determined to be 46.70, 37.19, and 30.32 mA/W, respectively. Eventually, it is observed that the photodetector with the thinnest film demonstrates the highest performance thanks to the enhanced structural, optical, and electrical properties of ZnO film. The experimental findings reveal that the UV detection performance of the devices is strongly affected by the thickness of ZnO film, which plays an important role in photogeneration, transportation and collection of charge carriers.
