This article is about Jasmila Žbanić's 2020 film Quo Vadis, Aida? (Where Are You Going, Aida?) and Srebrenica massacre in consideration of recent research on trauma studies. This work argues that the movie asks for a critical stance from the audience, and it demands that we do not just witness the horrific events of July 1995, but also that we take a more active role in the work of memory. The article looks deeply at the cinematic elements in the movie to show how Quo Vadis, Aida? demonstrates and asks how movies and other media dispense to the work of collective trauma and, all the while, operates as probable memory spaces.
