DİOGENES AİLESİ VE KONSTANTİNOS DİOGENES'İN FAALİYETLERİ

Özet

Bizans İmparatorluğu'nda sekizinci ve on birinci yüzyıllar aralığında yaşanan siyasi, sosyal ve ekonomik gelişmelerin neticesinde yazılı kaynaklarda şahısların kökenlerine ve ailelerine dair bilgiler verilmeye başlanmıştır. Bu çerçevede çalışmamızda tipik bir Bizans Ailesi özelliklerine sahip Diogenes Ailesi'nin kökeni ve irtibat noktalarını tespit ve analiz ettik. Diogenes Ailesi'nin kökeni tam olarak tespit edilemese de faaliyette bulunduğu bölgeler vasıtasıyla çıkarımlarda bulunularak süreç içerisinde ailenin üstlendiği vazifeler, akrabalık bağları ve merkeze karşı tutumları aşikâr kılındı. Konstantinos Diogenes'in Makedonya Hanedanlığı ile kurduğu sıkı yakınlığın tarihi temellerini ortaya çıkaran bilgilerin tarinin ardından Konstantinos Diogenes'in hayat hikâyesi ile birlikte faaliyetlerinin asıl gayesi netleştirildi. Diogenes Ailesi'nin Makedon Hanedanlığı ile yakınlığının vurgulandığı bu çalışmada IV. Romanos Diogenes'i tahta çıkmasını sağlayan etmenlerden biri olan Diogenes Ailesi'nin Bizans İmparatorluğu'ndaki konumu ele alınmıştır.

The informations about roots and families of persons have come into use in written sources in consequence of political, social and economic developments in Byzantine Empire between eighth and eleventh centuries. In this context we determined and analyzed the roots and the connection points of Diogenes Family who has typical features of Byzantine Family in our work. By making inferences via areas where the family practised; duties which were undertaken by the family, relationships and attitudes towards the centre of Diogenes Family within the process was made evident, in spite of the fact that the roots of Diogenes Family weren't determined accurately. After information which revealed the rm closeness with Macedonian Dynasty formed by Konstantinos Diogenes, essential purpose of activities of Konstantinos Diogenes was made clear with his life story. In this work where closeness of Diogenes Family with Macedonian Dynasty was emphasised, the position of Diogenes Family in Byzantine Empire which was one of the factors which ensured that Romanos IV. Diogenes ascended the throne was discussed.
