Herbal parts of Seseli gummiferum subsp. corymbosum and S. gummiferum subsp. gummiferum (Umbelliferae) were independently subjected to hydrodistillation. The oils were analyzed by GC-MS. A total of 282 components, representing 94.72% of the essential oil in the aerial parts of S. gummiferum subsp. corymbosum were detected, whereas 259 components comprising 99.82% of the essential oil were characterised in the aerial parts of S. gummiferum subsp. gummiferum. Bicyclogermacrene (11.92%) and germacrene B (14.01%) in S. gummiferum subsp. corymbosum, and spathulenol (19.91%) in S. gummiferum subsp. gummiferum were the main constituents.
