Tenable Engineering for a Sustainable Future: Integrating SDGs and Natural Resource Utilization, Elsevier, ss.301-321, 2026
The relationship between the United Nations sustainable development goals (SDGs) and road transportation in the European Union (EU) is deeply interconnected as the EU’s policies increasingly aim to align with SDG goals—such as accessible and clean energy, sustainable cities and societies, accountable consumption and production, and climate action—by promoting low-emission mobility options, investing in alternative fuels and electric vehicle infrastructure, enhancing public transportation networks, and implementing stringent emission standards for vehicles. All of these policies support the EU’s Green Deal goals and the 2030 agenda by addressing climate change, reducing air pollution, increasing the safety of roads, and ultimately fostering an inclusive and sustainable transportation system across member states.
