Abstract

In this study, we carried out the analysis of the escape rate in small Josephson junctions with Coulomb blockade of Cooper pairs. It was shown that escape rate in small junctions is determined by the energy ratio parameter κ = E J / E C in thermal activation and macroscopic quantum tunneling regimes. In the thermal activation regime, temperature also increases the escape rate.
