The present paper is a survey of the attempts, which during recent years have been made at the Astronomical Institute of the Ankara University: 1. (1) to determine the daily amounts of the fall-out of iron particles of meteoric origin; 2. (2) to study the seasonal variations of the fall-out; and 3. (3) to compare the curve representing these seasonal variations of the fall-out with the one representing the seasonal variations in meteoric activity. The results obtained up till now are critically discussed and possibilities for improving the methods of observation are indicated. © 1959.
