Assistive technology has an important and growing role in rehabilitation. There has been an enormous development in assistive technology devices in parallel with rapid evolution of computers in the last decade. Individuals with disabilities now have the opportunity to become more independent, productive and social by means of assistive devices. Physiatrists should take an active role in selecting the appropriate technology for a patient as well as design of assistive devices and use them in clinical practice.
