Özet

In vitro studies showed that the injection of zinc and iron have caused convulsions in rabbits. The possible epileptogenic activity of zinc can be explained either by decreasing GABA concentration via inhibition of glutamate decarboxylase or by increasing the carbonic anhydrase levels (1,2,3).
