Aquatoxicity is defined as a scientific field under ecotoxicology; which studies the effects of industrial chemicals, antropogenic and natural substances on aquatic organisms, populations and ecosystems from cellular to systematic level under the ecotoxicology term. Toxic substances accumulated in water and fishes/other aquatic organisms are potentially hazardous for human consumption which engenders extra importance from hygienic point of view as well. Among those potential hazards; heavy metals following oil and oil derivates, pesticides, detergents, radioactive substances, polichlorinated biphenils, antibiotics and biotoxins are considered as the most common and important toxins.
