Özet

This study compared three non-linear growth models (Richards, Gompertz-Laird, and logistic) using body weight measurements of male and female Japanese quails from hatch to 12 wk. The data were truncated before (5 wk), at (7 wk), and after (9 wk) the asymptotic weight was reached and then the models were examined in terms of their sensitivity to data reduction for predicting the future growth trajectory. Three sets of analyses were carried out for each sex for each model. Sixty-one males and seventy females were used in the analyses. Models were compared based on coefficients of determination (R-2 values), residual standard deviation (RSD), and correlation (r) between the observed and predicted body weights.
