Özet
In today's world, the prevalence of chronic diseases has significantly increased, making them one of the leading causes of death. Chronic diseases require long-term treatment and greatly affect patients' quality of life, placing a heavy burden on healthcare systems and necessitating special attention. In managing chronic diseases, especially noncommunicable ones like cardiovascular diseases, cancer, diabetes, and chronic respiratory diseases, communication plays a crucial role. Patients and healthcare professionals can tailor treatment plans to individual needs through regular communication. This helps patients learn about their health and provides feedback about their challenges during treatment, facilitating their treatment adherence. Effective communication between patients, their families, and healthcare professionals can prevent many difficulties during treatment. Research has demonstrated the benefits of a patient-centered approach, grounded in mutual trust and open communication, during treatment. This study evaluates the communication that should occur between healthcare professionals and patients in the management of chronic diseases.
